Night vision goggle, as one of the main means of individual night reconnaissance in modern war, are widely used in the US Army. Based on the application requirements of night vision goggle in modern battlefield environment, this paper reviews and summarizes the night vision goggle of the US Army in the past half century, and focuses on the analysis of the tactical and technical characteristics of the two series of products, the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle (ENVG) and the Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS), which are newly equipped in recent years. Finally, the technical development trend and path of the US Army night vision goggle are analyzed and summarized.

INTRODUTIONNight vision goggle, as the key equipment of the US Army, play a vital role in the modern individual battlefield situation awareness. As the main carrier of man-machine information interaction in the future, head-mounted night vision goggles have many advantages, such as strong adaptability to scene, high level of intelligence, fast detection and recognition speed. At present, there are different types of night vision helmets for American ground troops, and the options are relatively rich. Take the 140-man light infantry company as an example. It has 40 monocular low-light night vision goggle, 22 binocular low-light night vision goggle, 69 fusion enhanced night vision goggle, and 61 night vision equipment for other teams. The basic realization per capita more than 1 night vision goggle configuration [1,2] .Through the continuous development in recent years, the equipment development pays more and more attention to the actual combat demand, enhances the user's combat efficiency. In terms of size, weight, performance and power consumption, and in addition to trying to make extensive use of a variety of advanced scientific and technological means, makes the product intelligent, networked, information level is higher and higher. This paper mainly introduces the application and technological development of the US army head-mounted night vision goggles in recent years.
