Background: Hospitals are the most important pillar of the country›s health system, especially when faced with a crisis. One of the most important indicators in evaluating hospitals is performance indicators. This research was done to investigate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the performance indicators of academic and non-academic hospitals in West Azerbaijan province in 2020. Methods: The present cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study was done on all academic and non-academic hospitals of West Azerbaijan province, which examined their performance indicators in 2019 and 2020. The data were analyzed using SPSS 16 software by repeated-measures analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: The results of repeated-measures ANOVA demonstrated that the effect of time (coronavirus) on the index of bed occupancy ratio was significant (η2=0.24, P=0.006) so that it decreased this index in academic hospitals and had the opposite result in non-academic hospitals. The COVID-19 had a significant effect on the index of average patient stay (η2=0.47, P<0.001) and this index in both types of hospitals increased. Also, the COVID-19 had a significant effect on bed turnover rate (η2=0.32, P=0.001) and it decreased in both types of hospitals. Conclusion: Since academic hospitals are more responsible in dealing with epidemics, it is suggested to pay more attention to their infrastructures. Considering the financial burden of some non-communicable diseases, academic hospitals should be prepared to accept and support them, especially in the early period of the epidemic.

Background: The most important factor representing the performance and utilization of hospital services are hospital indicators. Objectives: The aim of study was comparison performance indices before and after health reform plan in Kermanshah and compared with the standard of the Iranian Ministry of Health. Methods: the study was comparative and descriptive-analytical that performed cross-sectional in 2017 and conducted in seven educational hospitals in Kermanshah. The data were related to 37 indices in five areas from hospitals that were submitted to the Department of Statistics in Deputy of Treatment. The data were collected using data extraction form. The validity of the form was confirmed by 7 experts. Data analyzed using SPSS 20. Results: results showed that comparing indices of bed and hospital stay, patient indices, and indicators for outpatient and inpatient department services from para-clinical services except endoscopic increased and the mortality indices decreased. Comparing indices with Pabon-laso and standards show that status of some indices for several years before and one year after health reform plan were in unfavorable condition. Conclusions: results showed that the implementation of the health reform plan may have caused changes in most of the indicators, but these changes were significant in a few number of indices. So it is needed that policymakers evaluate indices periodically.

Objective (s):Hospital indicators are very important in indicating their performance. Indicators are used as a tool to compare the number of services, evaluate services, compare services with standards or compare them with previous years. The aim of this study was to determine performance indicators of hospitals in a number of teaching hospitals and comparing them with performance indicators of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, 2019 Methods: This was a cross-sectional study that descriptively examined the performance indicators of 12 hospitals affiliated to Ardabil University of Medical Sciences. The data were collected by referring to statistical unit of health deputy and analyzed using SPSS22 software. Results:The ratio of active beds to fixed in 9 hospitals (75%), bed performance ratio, admission ratio per bed and average length of stay in 10 hospitals (83.3%) and bed turnover interval in 7 hospitals (58.4%) were desirable. The bed occupancy ratio in 7 hospitals (58.4%) was poor compared to the standards. Conclusion:The performance indicators of the hospitals affiliated to Ardabil University of Medical Sciences were relatively good compared to the standards. However, there is a need for promotion and improvements. Therefore, it is necessary that managers take the necessary proceedings to increase hospitals' performance indicators.
