Survey and perspectives of social touch in HCI

Abstract: Touch is one of the primary channel of non-verbal communication. It is used to convey emotions and to establish bounds between people. Its use has already been considered in HCI to interact with devices, but it has rarely been used for direct emotional communication between individuals.
