Surveillance nosokomialer Infektionen in der pädiatrischen Hämatologie/Onkologie

Abstract: Immunocompromised patients in pediatric hematology-oncology are faced with an increased risk of nosocomial infections (NI). The incidence of NI and the contribution of certain risk factors have not sufficiently been investigated in this population. It is therefore unknown how many NI are preventable through infection control measures. The surveillance of NI in pediatric hematology-oncology departments should focus on device-associated infections (central venous catheter infection, urinary tract infection), on … Show more

“…The prospective Oncoped tool for the surveillance of healthcare-related infections in paediatric cancer patients in Germany has been previously described in detail [ 5 ], [ 6 ], [ 12 ], [ 25 ]. Incidence densities (ID; BSI per 100 inpatient days) and incidence rates (IR; BSI per 1,000 CVAD utilization days) were calculated.…”

“…For severely immunosuppressed patients, however, surveillance includes other BSI (see definition B3 in ONKO-KISS [haemato-oncology component of the nosocomial infection surveillance system]).) as set out in the German Infection Protection Act (Infektionschutzgesetz, IfSG) [ 323 ] and corresponding comments by the RKI [ 324 ], [ 325 ], [ 326 ], [ 327 ], [ 328 ], [ 329 ], [ 330 ] (cat.
