“…Another type of DEH that is not completely agreeable is the bilateral DEH. The delayed vertigo may occur after deafness due to hydropic changes following vestibular obstruction of the Aqueduct [18][19][20]. Subsequently, the delayed vertigo following sensorineural deafness "DEH," and its etiology is described as following [21,22]: The mechanism of DEH is a sufficiently major labyrinthine insult to cause total deafness but preserve vestibular function to produce delayed atrophy or fibrous obliteration of the endolymphatic resorption system.…”

“…When medical treatments could not control vertigo attacks, surgical treatments are acceptable for ipsilateral cases; the most effective surgery is labyrinthectomy via transtympanic or trans-mastoid and trans-labyrinthine vestibular neurectomy. The pharmacological labyrinthectomy, particularly the intratympanic injection of gentamicin, is also effective [2, 20]. In some cases, conservative surgeries such as endolymphatic sac decompression and sacculo cochleostomy are preferable ere labyrinth degenerative surgeries.…”
