“…In our study, we found ISSMAD located within 20 mm proximally and distally to SMA curvature, which is consistent with previous study. 12 SMA curvature is the area where hemodynamic force changes. SMA curvature is exposed to shearing force because this area forms the border zone between the fixed retropancreatic portion and the more distal mobile mesenteric portion, analogous to what was seen at the ligamentum arteriosum during rapid deceleration injury such as aortic dissection.…”
