Surgical removal of venous filter and snare complex in a patient with solitary left pelvic kidney

Abstract: Anticoagulation is used to prevent thromboembolism; inferior vena cava filters are an alternative in patients with contraindications to anticoagulation. Although it is safe and effective, there are recognized complications related to inferior vena cava filter placement.
