“…However, varieties of LUTS including, de novo overactive bladder89, voiding dysfunction and de novo urinary stress incontinence10 may occur after mesh implantation surgery for POP. It would be difficult to differentiate if the LUTS were brought about by a transient physiologic phenomenon secondary to the surgical procedure or a result of a worrisome reaction to the mesh.…”

“…The outcome measure was the objective cure rate at last follow‐up (≥5 years), defined as POP‐Q ≤ 1 at the anterior vaginal wall and all compartments. Patient feedback on POPDI‐6 with no or mild sensation of protruding abdominal organ (question 3) and no or mild heaviness (question 2) were considered subjective success . For the two patients with recurrent prolapse who underwent repeat surgery before 5‐year follow‐up, assessment on the last visit prior to the second surgery was used in analysis.…”

“…The superiority of using synthetic meshes has been well described in the literature 14-16. One study of the use of synthetic mesh via a double pass on the transobturator foramen also had satisfactory results with regard to anterior wall prolapse 17.…”
