Surgical Outcomes After Idiopathic and Secondary Epiretinal Membrane Surgery, and Assessment of the Association Between Visual Acuity and Central Macular Thickness

Ö ÖZ ZE ET T A Am ma aç ç: : Yalnız pars plana vitrektomi (PPV) veya PPV ile kombine katarakt cerrahisi uygulanan idiyopatik ve sekonder epiretinal membranlı (ERM) hastaların merkezi makula kalınlıklarını (MMK), en iyi düzeltilmiş görme keskinliklerini (EİDGK) ve bu parametreler arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmektir. M Ma at te e--r ri ia al l a an nd d M Me et th ho od ds s: : Thirty three idiopathic ERM and 23 secondary ERM patients who had PPV alone or combined with cataract surgery were included in the study. Preoperative BCVA, CMT, postoperative 6 th month BCVA, CMT were recorded. The changes in BCVA and in CMT, relation between postoperative BCVA and preoperative and postoperative CMT were evaluated. R Re es su ul lt ts s: : In idiopathic ERM group, patients who underwent combined surgery had significantly increased VA. Also in both surgical subgroups, the correlation between postoperative BCVA and preoperative CMT, and postoperative CMT were not statistical significant. In secondary ERM group, in patients who had PPV alone, the relationship between preoperative and postoperative BCVA was statistical significant.
