“…So far, long-term survival with corrective surgery has been achieved in three children with very short tracheal atresia. In 1994, Hiyama et al 6 described a case of Floyd type II tracheal agenesis that was managed successfully by esophageal ligation, gastrostomy, and esophageal intubation. At 9 months of age, a long T-tube was placed in the esophagus, enabling the infant to breathe room air and later to speak by closing the orifice of the Ttube.…”
