Surgical Approach for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in Management of Infertility

Abstract: Background: In patients with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), resolution of infertility is an important goal of treatment. Wedge resection of the ovaries described as a means to achieve this was practiced in the middle of twentieth century. With the advent of endoscopic surgery, surgical approach for the same condition has been modified. Multi point biopsy, multiple needle puncture, electofulguration and laser fulguration are being tried in the context of PCOS. This project was taken up to evaluate the scop… Show more

“…Importantly, p38 activation up-regulated DCs co-stimulatory molecules and maturation markers such as CD86, CD83, and CD40 and MHC class II (De Benedetti et al, 2001;Nakahara et al, 2004;Escors et al, 2008). Signaling through NF-kB also determines the increased expression of MHC II and co-stimulatory molecules, release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, and DCs recruitment to secondary lymphoid organs (Andreakos et al, 2006;Rath et al, 2006). In this study, the MAPKs and MyD88-NFkB pathways were significantly activated in DCs by YYWY treatment, indicating both of them were involved in the process of YYWY-matured DCs (Figures 6A, B).…”

“…The formula in this test consists of tonifying the kidney and spleen, regulating qi, reducing phlegm and promoting blood circulation, taking dryness and dampness as the basic laws, as well as tonifying the kidney and promoting blood circulation. The whole party played kidney-tonifying spleen, resolving phlegm and promoting blood circulation [ 9 ].…”
