Bu çalışmanın amacı, bu patolojinin tedavisinde, geniş hasta popülasyonunun analizi ile yüksek frekans cerrahisinin etkinliğini ve tekrarlanabilirliğini göstermektir. Burun tıkanıklığı ile gelen ve alt konka hipertrofisi olan non-allerjik 1689 hasta çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Lokal anestezi altında yüksek frekans ünitesi ve bipolar terminal elektrodu ile konkalarda gelişen dekonjesyon değerlendirilmiştir. Prosedürün etkinliği, objektif muayene, anket sonuçları, aktif rinomanometri ve mukosiliyer transport süresinin ölçümü ile değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuçlar hipertrofide azalma ve semptomlarda düzelme göstermiştir. Büyük hasta popülasyonunda nazal rezistansda azalma ve mukosiliyer transport zamanında iyileşme görülmüştür. Az sayıda komplikasyon oranları ve iyi hasta uyumu görülmektedir. Ayrıca herhangi bir hemostatik işlem gerektirmemektedir. Bu sonuçlar metodun kullanılabilirliğini göstermektedir.
