Abstract:Surgical techniques for correction of transposition of the great arteries with ventricular septal defect and left ventricular outflow tract obstruction have been introduced into clinical practice nearly five decades ago. However, the optimal surgical strategy is still controversial. The reasons for the diverse approaches to this malformation are discussed in this commentary.
