Surgeons' and Hematologists' Decisions on Splenectomy in the Treatment of Congenital Spherocytosis

Abstract: The aim of the study was to present and discuss the results of surgical treatment of congenital spherocytois in our department. Material and methods. Between 1994 and 2001 in the Department of General and EndocrinologicalSurgery at the Medical University in Białystok, 14 surgical excisions of enlarged spleens were performed because of congenital spherocytosis.
