“…The principal reagent used in this study was linear sodium DBS, which is an anionic surfactant (Holmberg, 2019) having the chemical composition C 12 H 25 C 6 H 4 SO 3 Na and molecular weight of 348.48 g mol À1 in white crystalline powder form, with a purity of approximately 99+% (Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Corporation, Osaka, Japan). Sodium chloride with a purity of 98+% was used (Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Corporation).…”

“…The main reagent used in this study is linear sodium DBS, which is an anionic surfactant (Holmberg, 2019) with a chemical composition of C 12 H 25 C 6 H 4 SO 3 Na and a molecular weight of 348.48 g/mol. The DBS was procured from Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Corporation (Osaka, Japan) in white crystalline powder form, with a purity of ~99+%.…”

“…The surfactant most commonly used in liquid soap is sodium laureth sulfate. Surfactants that form micelles in water destroy the lipid envelope of coronaviruses by trapping fragments of the envelope in the micelles and thus destroying the viral envelope . Since the proteins contained in the viral envelope enable the virion to dock with the host cell and subsequently infiltrate the viral genome, the destruction of this envelope is an effective step in the inactivation of viruses.…”
