Surface Tension and Liquid Viscosity of R32+R1234yf and R32+R1234ze

Abstract: The surface tension and liquid viscosity of two binary refrigerant mixtures 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (R32) (1) + 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoroprop-1-ene (R1234yf) (2) and R32 (1) + trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoroprop-1-ene (R1234ze) (2) have been measured from 293 K to the critical point by using the surface light scattering (SLS) method. The experimental data were correlated as a function of temperature and mole fraction of the pure components. For the surface tension of R32+R1234yf and R32+R1234ze, the average absolute dev… Show more

“…A total of 2890 experimental values of mixtures composed by the investigated pure components were available from the TDE database and the latest publications. These mixtures include 24 binary mixtures, two three-component mixtures, and one five-component mixture. Some mixtures are complex systems including very different components, such as alkane + haloalkane and CO 2 + haloalkane.…”

“…The DLS apparatus was already employed in our former investigation for thermophysical properties of refrigerants. ,, The experimental system includes a diode-pumped solid state laser (Spectra-Physics Excelsior, 300 mW) with a wavelength of λ 0 = 532 nm, a digital correlator with a single-tau structure (ALV-LinCorr) for the computation of the pseudo-cross-correlation function, optical path, and sample cell (stainless steel and equipped with quartz windows: i.d., 70 mm; vol., 160 cm 3 ). The incident angle was adjusted by a rotation table (DaHeng, GCD-011080) with a standard uncertainty of 0.05% ( k = 2).…”

“…The SLS apparatus employed in this work was described thoroughly in ref and it is already used to study several refrigerants , and binary mixtures. , The experimental system consists of a diode-pumped solid state laser (Spectra-Physics Excelsior, 300 mW) with a wavelength of λ 0 = 532 nm, a digital correlator with a single-tau structure (ALV-LinCorr) for the computation of the pseudo cross-correlation function, optical path, and experimental cell (stainless steel and equipped with quartz windows; inner diameter, 70 mm; volume, 160 cm 3 ). The temperature of the cell is regulated through resistance heating and measured by two calibrated 100 Ω platinum resistance probes with a total uncertainty of 0.03 K. The incident angle was adjusted by an electric rotation table (DaHeng, GCD-011080) with a standard uncertainty of 0.05%.…”
