Abstract:A two-step electromagnetic detection procedure is proposed to characterize a dielectric obstacle buried at low depth under a rough surface from single frequency and multiple incidence data. First, a properly defined correlation function is constructed to provide an estimation of the surface roughness. Second, this surface profile geometry is introduced into a finite element code thanks to a conformal mapping in order to compute the associated scattered field with this additionnal information. An iterative proc… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
