Surface‐modulated magnetization of magnetite microspheres

Abstract: Functional coatings of magnetite particles always reduce their magnetic response and greatly limit their biological in‐vivo applications. In this Letter, an effective solution was proposed by inducing large lattice strain in magnetite microspheres with silver. Their saturation magnetization was found to be larger than that of their parent magnetite spheres at 300 K.
