“…For transparent TiO 2 xerogel, the absorption spectrum changes dramatically in relation to neat anatase TiO 2 and spawns over the visible region (400 nm to 700 nm), suggesting transparency of the material in the visible range. The results are similar to those reported in the literature for synthesized polymer TiO 2 [30,31], ZnO [32] and ZrO 2 [33] films in an organic phase made of polycarbonate or polyesters, methyl methacrylate, such as polycaprolactone, poly(D,L-lactic acid), oleic acid and carboxylic acid. Mono-and bidentate complexes can be formed between titanium oxo groups and organic acid after condensation and oligomerization, providing a good homogeneity in the final material and maintaining transparency in the visible range.…”

“…ZrO 2 nanoparticles can be integrated in flexible films of polyacrylate using a similar approach. 55 Since ZrO 2 energy bandgap is higher than 5.0 eV, this metal oxide hybrid films can be useful to protect against high energy UV radiation (k <250 nm), maintaining transparency at higher UV wavelengths. ZrO 2 metal oxide particles have to be functionalized previously to make them compatible with the acrylate monomer solution or with the polymerization media.…”

“…[27] The extended bands in the 3400 and 1600 cm -1 region correspond to the vibration of stretching and deformation of the O-H band, respectively, due to the absorption of water and coordination of it. [28] In the spectrum of modifier, bands at 1288-1255 cm -1 were assigned to the stretching and [25,29] …”
