Surface currents induced on a circular strip

Abstract: The problem of the induced surface currents on a perfectly conducting circular strip mounted on a perfectly conducting ground plane is considered. The induced currents are due to the radiated fields of an electric dipole source on the axis of the circular strip. An electric field integral equation is formulated in terms of the induced surface current and solved in closed form in the quasi-static limit as an expansion of Chebyshev polynomials.
