In previous studies, we have shown that the infrared study of pyrrole adsorption may be used to reveal the strength of the basic sites of oxides and modified oxides, by measuring the NH frequency shift resulting from H bond formation between pyrrole and surface sites (1,2). A small increase of intensity of the OH band at 3700 cm-l is observed uponGermanium substituted zeolite appears to be still different with respect to the surface It gives a single NH band of adsorbed pyrrole around 3240 cm-l, which may be basicity.-983 -
