“…These findings suggest an insignificant difference between the contents of BTA 1 and 2 being in good agreement with previous results 50. The nanofiber-morphology within the resulting composites was studied by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM).Figure 3 shows SEM-micrographs of an overview and a corresponding magnified section of each microfiber-nanofiber composite containing BTA 1 and 2 processed from the different solvents.…”

“…Ahn et al [13] have found that filtration efficiency of Nylon 6 nanofilters is 99.993 % superior to commercialized High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter at the face velocity of 5 cm/s using 0.3 um test particles, which shows the potential to have application of HEPA and Ultra Low Penetration Air (ULPA) grade high efficiency filter. What's more, nanofibers in filtration system applications can include air, oil, fuel filters for automotive [14], filters for beverage [15] and filter media for new air and liquid filtration applications [16]. Filter efficiency can be improved as the size of fibers decrease [17].…”

“…In contrast to this top‐down approach, self‐assembly of small molecules is a straightforward bottom‐up approach resulting in the in situ formation of supramolecular nano‐ and mesofibers. In this context, we have recently demonstrated that the class of 1,3,5‐benzenetrisamides are suitable to prepare supramolecular fibers in situ in polymer nonwovens with sufficient mechanical stability to be used as filter media in air filtration applications or as single fibers for energy transport . The overall supramolecular fiber density in the nonwovens is relatively high for filtration and consequently results in high pressure drops (Δ p ) during filtration.…”
