“…The last factor induces a low-frequency periodic disturbance whose effect can be drastically reduced by the adoption of split strandguide rollers of small diameter and short pitch [3], [4]. Anyway, since its frequency, strictly related to the casting speed, is approximately known [5], this low-frequency disturbance can efficiently be rejected by means of a feedforward disturbance compensation channel or by an additional internal model closed-loop compensator [6], [7].
