“…Part of CB is decomposed into Cl − by a ring‐opening reaction, and benzene generates phenol 45 . The other part is decomposed into O/M/P‐chlorophenol by ortho‐ring cleavage, further transformed into 3‐catechol, and oxidized to acyl chloride 29,46 . During oxidation, ring‐opening dechlorination and chain‐breaking reactions occur to produce oxalic acid, acetic acid, and other substances.…”

“…Bacterial solution was spread in solid medium, then incubated at a constant temperature of 30°C for 48 h. To obtain pure cultures, colonies were subjected to transfer twice on agar plates. The determination of the strain degradation ability was to pick the colony and reinoculate it into a serum bottle containing CBs to analyze CB concentration 29 . The selection of strain was based on its superior capability of the CB reduction efficiency above 85% within 8 h.…”

“…The chlorobenzene remediation technologies mainly include gas thermal remediation (Xu et al 2019), advanced oxidation (Xie et al 2020) and microbial degradation (Zhang et al 2019). Thermal desorption technology is energy-intensive and costly, and the soil temperature can still be as high as 70°C after a week of restoration, which seriously damages the native environment of the soil (Xu et al 2019).…”
