Superhydrophobic Surface Fabrication for Strengthened Selective Water Shut-off Technology

Abstract: A two-step solution immersion method was used to successfully fabricate a superhydrophobic film on the surface of the core, which can effectively separate oil and water. The optimal reagent concentration of the superhydrophobic surface was 1.0 wt % aminopropyl triethoxysilane + 0.7 wt % stearoyl chloride + 0.2 wt % triethylamine, suitable for reservoirs with a formation temperature around 40–100 °C, and the maximum contact angle of the prepared superhydrophobic surface was 155° with a sliding angle smaller tha… Show more

“…An increase in hydrophobicity can lead to the rough surface. [ 30,31 ] In contrast, PTFE/PVP (60:25) films appeared to display quite smooth surface without any obvious surface protrusions. The AFM results were consistent with those of SEM.…”

“…The image contour of the drop was fitted with a computer, and the surface tension of the sealing slurry was calculated. 40 The contact angle measuring method was used to measure the contact angle of the sealing slurry. First, the briquettes with a flat surface and uniform thickness were selected as samples.…”
