“…[1] Disadvantages are, need for more extensive dissection which leads to increased incidence of facial nerve injury, longer operative time, more loss of normal parotid tissue, more blood loss and larger contour defect. [5] This technique is also more difficult to conduct in obese patients due to increased difficulty in finding facial nerve trunk.
