“…Basil ( Ocimum basilicum ), called Rayhan in Arabic, is a well‐known popular plant in Saudi Arabia, and it is widely available in the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). Previous reported studies indicated that it is one of the aromatic plants belonging to the Lamiaceae family (Coelho et al, 2018; Kusuma & Mahfud, 2016), which contains many chemical compounds that include ~150 species (Coelho et al, 2018; Güez et al, 2017).
