161Dy Mössbauer Effect in Dy2Fe14B

Abstract: P. C. M. GUBBENS et al.: 161Dy Mossbauer Effect in Dy,Fe,,B 57 5 phys. stat. sol. (b) 130, 575 (1985) The 161Dy Mossbauer effwt is measured in the tetragonal compound Dy,Fe,,B a t various temperatures between 4.2 and 300 K. The spectra are analysed in terms of two subspectra associated with the two crystallographic Dy sites in the structure of Dy,Fe,,B. It is found that the crystal field split ground state corresponds to J , = -15/2 for both the types of sites. The results of bulk magnetization measureme… Show more

“…Differences in the R moments at the g and f sites are shown. Two distinct R sites were evidenced by the MS method at R nuclei in R 2 Fe 14 B compounds on 155 Gd (Bogé et al 1986), 161 Dy (Friedt et al 1985, Ferreira et al 1985, Gubbens et al 1985, Vasquez et al 1985, 166 Er (Sanchez et al 1986, 169 Tm (Gubbens et al 1987). The results obtained from R MS on R 2 Fe 14 C compounds showed that there is almost no difference in the physical properties between the borides and carbides as evidenced on 155 Gd (Buschow et al 1988c) or 161 Dy, 166 Er and 169 Tm NGR (Gubbens et al 1988).…”
