1H NMR Studies of MgH2

Abstract: We report on 1 H NMR studies of commercially available powder MgH 2 exposed to air and maybe humidity, which has been believed to be a promising material for hydrogen storage. The Fourier transform of the free-induction decay of the protons indicatesd superposition of broad and narrow components in the NMR spectrum, while the Fourier transform of the 1 H nuclear spin-echo reproduced the narrow component.
