In order to assess the reliability of circuit breaker more scientificly and effectively, a method based on improved fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and genetic algorithm is presented in this paper. Firstly circuit breaker fault tree is established according to analyzing the circuit breaker failures and which make the complex circuit breaker system failures into all kinds of basic types of failures; Secondly, Improved Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process(IFAHP) is designed to analyze the fault tree, it uses the relationship between the layers of fault tree to establish fuzzy judgment matrix and convert the fuzzy consistent qualification to constrained optimization problems; Then Genetic Algorithm(GA) is adopted to get the weight of each fault which can find the optimal solution quickly and accurately; Finally, according to the practical operation of circuit breaker, high voltage circuit breaker reliability evaluation model is established to assess the reliability of circuit breaker. The analytical result of practical sample verifies the accuracy of the proposed method.

This paper addresses the reliability impact of connecting IPPs to the part of a radial supply system having relatively poor reliability. Conceptually, adding a switching substation to a radial system can have a negative impact on the system reliability. The study presented in this paper quantifies the reliability impact of two different station configurations to which the IPPs are connected. The reliability of a three breaker ring bus configuration and a two breaker bus configuration is evaluated based on available information and specific assumptions. The comparison between the two substation configurations is made. How to select an appropriate station configuration for connecting IPPs to help achieve the BCTC reliability objective in the future is also discussed.

Mechanical faults of high-voltage circuit breakers (HVCBs) always happen over long-term operation, so extracting the fault features and identifying the fault type have become a key issue for ensuring the security and reliability of power supply. Based on wavelet packet decomposition technology and random forest algorithm, an effective identification system was developed in this paper. First, compared with the incomplete description of Shannon entropy, the wavelet packet time-frequency energy rate (WTFER) was adopted as the input vector for the classifier model in the feature selection procedure. Then, a random forest classifier was used to diagnose the HVCB fault, assess the importance of the feature variable and optimize the feature space. Finally, the approach was verified based on actual HVCB vibration signals by considering six typical fault classes. The comparative experiment results show that the classification accuracy of the proposed method with the origin feature space reached 93.33% and reached up to 95.56% with optimized input feature vector of classifier. This indicates that feature optimization procedure is successful, and the proposed diagnosis algorithm has higher efficiency and robustness than traditional methods.
