ChemInform Abstract The galvanic cell described in the scheme is developed for the determination of the sulfur gas potentials in H2S/H2 and SO2/H2/H2S gas mixtures consists of a solid reference electrode and a MoS2/CaS mixed pellet auxiliary electrode placed at the bottom of the cylindrical single crystal CaF2 electrolyte. EMF changes as a function of S2 pressure have been measured for H2S/H2 buffer gases at 650-950 rc C. Response times of 5 to 10 min. are observed. The measured EMF values agree well with those calculated rom equilibrium thermodynamic data.
