“…Compared with sulfate (the reactant), the preferential use of light isotopes by microorganisms can bring a negative shift of 15–25‰ to sulfur isotopes in the H 2 S of BSR origin 133 , 134 . The TSR requires sufficient sulfate supply and high temperature, where sulfur isotopes in the H 2 S do not drift greatly, usually between 5‰ and 15‰ 8 , 16 , 135 . The isotopic data of H 2 S in the southwestern margin of the Qaidam Basin was poorly reported in previous studies.…”

“…61−64 Due to the intensive overthrust during the late Yanshanian and Hercynian movements, a series of reverse faults in the NE and NW strikes are developed in the Puguang area. 39,47 The observation and measurement of tectonic fractures from wells in different structural locations of the study area reveal that reverse faults have significant impacts on the development and distribution of shear fractures in the Feixianguan carbonates. According to the interpretation of image logs, the predominant orientations of shear fractures are subparallel to the adjacent faults or intersected at small angles (Figure 1c), implying that these fractures are fault-related and mainly controlled by local stress.…”

“…The northeastern Sichuan Basin is mainly composed of the pre-Triassic carbonate deposits and post-Triassic clastic deposits. The Lower Triassic Feixianguan Formation is in conformity contact with the underlying Changxing Formation and overlying Jialingjiang Formation (Figure ), with a thickness of 450–720 m . During the deposition of the Feixianguan Formation, the Puguang area mainly distributed in the carbonate platform sedimentary environment and was in a situation of relative sea-level decline.…”

“…de Oliveira Carneiro et al 13 established a coke oven gas purification process model and evaluated solutions that can remove H 2 S to a greater extent. Li et al 14 studied the distribution of TSR and H 2 S in the Sichuan Basin based on carbon isotope data and sulfur isotope data of solid bitumen, sulfide gas, and anhydrite. Xie et al 15 analyzed the factors affecting the formation and enrichment of H 2 S by considering geological factors such as the characteristics of combustion, gas composition, and groundwater geochemistry in the study area.…”
