Pregorexia, known as anorexia nervosa in pregnancy, defines pregnant women who limit their food intake and engage in activities that increase energy expenditure to control their weight gain during pregnancy. Skipping meals, avoiding eating, applying compensatory behaviors and body image disorders are common in pregnant women with this eating disorder. Pregnant women in the risk group should be followed up with a multidisciplinary team and their food consumption should be evaluated regularly. Considering the differing physiological processes during pregnancy, the energy and nutrient needs of the pregnant women increase due to the plasma volume enlargement and the decrease in the nutrient stores. Pregnant women with eating disorders should be supported in terms of nutrition and nutrients. Not only during pregnancy, but also after birth, the mother’s caregiving process and the effects on health of the baby should be considered. However, the lack of a tool developed for the diagnosis of pregorexia causes many deficiencies in the definition and management of the disease. Therefore, there is a need for further research on this subject.

Background This study examines the link between personality pathology and suicide risk regarding the DSM-5 alternative model of personality disorders. Method The study investigates the facets, domains, internalizing, and externalizing of personality pathology and their correlation and predictive significance for suicidal ideation and behavior. This study examined a diverse and balanced sample of 1,398 college students aged between 18- and 29-year-olds from nine colleges in Kafrelshiekh University, with nearly equal representation of both genders (687 males, 711 females), a mix of rural and urban residents (807 rural, 591 urban), and a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds (15 very low SES, 84 low SES, 878 moderate SES, 364 high SES, and 57 very high SES). The Personality Inventory for the DSM-5 (PID-5) was utilized to assess personality pathology. Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS) was used to evaluate suicidal ideation and behavior. Results and Discussion Logistic regression reveals significant associations between personality traits and suicidal ideation (e.g., Anhedonia, Suspiciousness) and behavior (e.g., Risk Taking, Depressivity). Negative Affect and Detachment are significantly linked to suicidal ideation, while Detachment, Disinhibition, and Psychoticism are linked to suicidal behavior. Internalizing personality pathology predicts both ideation and behavior, indicating a contribution to suicidal thoughts and self-destructive acts. Externalizing is a significant predictor of suicidal behavior.

Anorexia nervosa has attracted great attention recently because it is a psychological disorder with a high mortality rate. Although it is thought to be common in adolescents, it has begun to pose a significant risk to older age groups as well. Many different psychotherapies have been proposed for anorexia nervosa from the past to the present, but no consensus has been reached in the literature on this issue. This article aims to examine the effect of family therapy on anorexia nervosa by comparing it with individual therapies. In the literature, there are different opinions on the effectiveness of family therapy, which is frequently discussed with anorexia nervosa. As long as the family does not prevent the progress of the treatment, the use of family therapy has been found to be beneficial for anorexia nervosa, both through the study of dysfunctional relationship patterns in the family and in order to support the treatment of the family.
