Successive magnetic transitions in the heavy-fermion superconductor Ce3PtIn11 studied by In115 nuclear quadrupole resonance

Abstract: Nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements were performed on the heavy-fermion superconductor Ce 3 PtIn 11 with T c = 0.32 K. The temperature dependence of both spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T 1 and NQR spectra evidences the occurrence of two successive magnetic transitions with T N1 2.2 K and T N2 2.0 K. In successive magnetic transitions, even though the magnetic moment at the Ce(2) site plays a major role, the magnetic moment at the Ce(1) site also contributes to some extent. While a commensurate anti… Show more

“…The fittings reproduce the splittings and merges of the lines well, particularly in the low-temperature region. The ratio of the magnetic moments at the Ce(1) and Ce(2) sites at T = 0 is m 1 m 2 ≃ 1 40 in both models, which indicates that the magnetic moment at the Ce(1) site is very small even in the present model, similar to the magnetic dipolar model [16] . ) , and (κ = 1, 2) below T N1 .…”

“…We previously performed 115 In-NQR of Ce 3 PtIn 11 [16] . The temperature dependencies of the representative frequencies in the NQR spectra around T N1 or T N2 were classified into three types: no change, shift, and split, as summarized in Table 1 [16,17] . To determine the magnetic structures of Ce 3 PtIn 11 , we performed a spectral analysis with a magnetic dipolar model.…”

“…This result opens a new prospective for comprehensive investigations of the fascinating physical behavior in Ce3PtIn11 by means of hitherto unfeasible experimental techniques that demand large samples. For instance, recent results obtained from NQR measurements [16] on this particular polycrystalline sample signify the importance of good quality polycrystalline Ce3PtIn11 in sufficient amount.…”

“…To determine the magnetic structure of this material, we previously performed 115 In-NQR experiments and conducted an analysis based on the magnetic dipolar model [32]. The results showed that it has a commensurate magnetic structure when T N1 < T < T N2 .…”
