Abstract:The homotopy algorithm provides a robust method for determining optimal control, in some cases the global minimum solution, as a continuation parameter is varied gradually to regulate the contributions of the nonlinear terms. In this paper, the Successive Backward Sweep (SBS) method, which is insensitive to initial guess, augmented with a homotopy algorithm is suggested. This approach is effective for highly nonlinear problems such as low-thrust trajectory optimization. Often, these highly nonlinear problems h… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
