“…Thoracic Surgery Several beneficial effects have been described in clinics with the application of fibrin sealant preparations: reduc tion in air or fluid leakage from pulmonary parenchymal staple lines, reenforcement of esophageal anastomoses, closing of bronchopleural fistulas (especially those less than 4 mm in diameter), using a fiberoptic flexible broncho scope, and treatment of pneumothorax using video-assisted surgical techniques.
