“…Although NC is a benign condition, treatment is usually required for aesthetic reasons or in complicated cases (cyst formation, with secondary infection and development of scarring). Several therapies have been reported in the treatment of NC, including keratolytic agents such as salicylic acid and 0.1% retinoic acid, vitamin D derivatives, and 12% ammonium lactate, topical tretinoin/clindamycin, laser (CO2, Erbium Yag, diode laser) therapies, or complete surgical removal.
