Successful Three-Dimensional Reconstruction Using Transesophageal Echocardiography in a Patient with a Left Atrial Myxoma.

Abstract: SUMMARYTwo-dimensional echocardiography can provide intracardiac images. However, the cross-sectional images require mental reconstruction to understand a three-dimensional intracardiac structure. It is sometimes hard for inexperienced echocardiographers to engage in reconstruction. Thus, three-dimensional echocardiography is potentially beneficial because these images can provide extra information without mental reconstruction. Herein we demonstrate three-dimensional reconstruction using transesophageal echoc… Show more

“…1-6 More recently, three-dimensional (3D) TEE reconstruction using a multiplane probe has been used to diagnose these lesions. [7][8][9][10][11][12] In this preliminary study, we report the usefulness of the newly introduced technique of live 3D TTE in the assessment of LA tumors in four adult patients recently studied by us (three myxomas, one hemangioma). In all four patients 2D TTE was performed using a Philips Sonos 7500 ultrasound system (Andover, MA) and a 4.0 MHz standard transducer. The same system was also used to perform live 3D TTE with a 4.0 MHz 4X matrix probe and the images cropped as described previously.…”

“…Згідно з даними Q. Meng та співавторів (2013), діагностична цінність трансторакальної і чрезстравохідної ЕхоКГ становить 93,3% (139/149) і 96,8% (30/31) відповідно [24]. t. harada та співавтори (2001) підкреслюють доцільність використання тривимірної ЕхоКГ для візуалізації новоутворень серця, що дає додаткову інформацію для хірургів про локалізацію і ділянки прикріплення до порожнин серця пухлини [21].…”
