Success rate to complete optimal 20 + 2 ISUOG planes for foetal ultrasonographic structural screening during early second trimester pregnancy in Thailand

Abstract: Objective To compare the success rates of obtaining optimal 20 + 2 (2 overview + 20 planes) International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG) planes for foetal ultrasound structural screening between pregnant women at gestational age (GA) 18–20 weeks and 20–22 weeks 6 days Methods A prospective descriptive study was conducted. Singleton pregnant women at GA 18–22 weeks + 6 days attending antenatal clinic between December 201… Show more

“…The finding that the majority of the pregnant women (87.0%) would prefer l port during the self-examination is in line with a 2019 survey by Schramm et al in 509 women, in which skeptical attitudes toward pregnancy self-monitoring were when the procedure was combined with web-based consultation with a physician With regard to the accuracy of self-examination with ultrasound devices in sent study, the success rate for locating the amniotic fluid (43.5% for images, 5 videos) and fetal heartbeat (52.2% for videos) was good as this was the first time h the ultrasound device and even trainees in obstetrics and gynecology need more months of clinical experience to manage ultrasound examinations independently particular, displaying the fetal profile is known to be technically demanding [13] was accordingly the most challenging task with low success rates (14.3% for image for videos). Depending on factors such as the fetal position, even experienced raphers cannot always visualize the fetal face sufficiently (frequency of incomple alization 6-9% [14,15]).…”

“…ScanNAV assist (Intelligent Ultrasound) available on some GE systems recognises the 20 views recommended by the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for second trimester foetal screening. 33 Other designs include the Philips HeartModel system, an automated ML algorithm that can quickly measure dynamic LV and LA volumes and accurately analyse ejection and filling parameters (Figure 3). 34 The apparent potential is for the novice practitioner, particularly in educational settings.…”
