“…The glomus tumor is a benign tumor, rare but not exceptional (1), it represents 1.6 -5% of tumors of the soft parts of the hand (2). Females are more likly to have them especially in the digital location in subungual (3), in our series there appears a clear female predominance, these data join the results of the other series.…”

“…13 Other less commonly involved sites in the hand are the nail matrix, nail bed, and pulp of a finger. 1,14 The middle age women are mainly predisposed for these tumours. 15 These tumours usually present as a small, slightly raised, bluish or pinkish red, painful nodule, and when subungual in location, can elevate, deform and discolour the nail (Fig.…”

“…Glomus body consists of afferent arteriole, anastomotic vessel known as SucquetHoyer canal, primary collecting vein, intraglomerular reticulum, and capsular portion. 1 This structure controls blood pressure and temperature by regulating blood flow in the cutaneous vasculature. [2][3][4] Hyperplasia in any of these parts can lead to a tumour formation.…”

“…Presurgical determination of the precise tumour extent can thus be useful only in areas where the size of the excision should be as limited as possible, such as for the face. However, in such regions, the difficulty to reach areas around the nose, mouth or Very high-resolution MR imaging has found a modest niche, however, in the pathology of the nail apparatus (38,39), showing that the technique can help to define accurately the location and limits of glomus tumours before excision.…”
