Substantiation of fuzzy logic algorithms for control problems of a geotechnical systems

Abstract: The article presents results of study of intelligent fuzzy logic algorithms developed on the basis of fuzzy logic methods for information system of the mine safety system. In order to prevent emergency situations caused by the lost geotechnical system stability due to the uncertain behavior of the rock mass, a new fuzzy controller was designed which could generate an additional control signal. For the fuzzy controller, methods of data fuzziness, inference and de-fuzziness were validate, and linguistic rules we… Show more

“…The stability of the "support-rock massif" system depends on the magnitude (X) and speed (dX/dt) of the parameters deviation. Based on these data, control signals are generated [8,27], which are used to directly adjust the rate of mining machine heading to prevent falls and outbursts, increase or decrease pressure in the hydraulic props, or to make auxiliary recommendations on the frequency of additional roof bolts support.…”

“…Today, various technical means are available for the implementation of control systems that use the methods and algorithms of intelligent systems. Control systems containing neural networks, elements of evolutionary models and fuzzy controllers based on fuzzy logic methods are being developed and implemented [4][5][6][7][8][9][10]. The term "fuzzy logic" was proposed by Lotfi Askar Zadeh in his theory of fuzzy sets [4,11].…”

“…The calculations of the stress-strain state were carried out using the finite element method on a computer complex developed at IGTM NASU [3,7,8,23]. Stable elastoplastic solutions, taking into account residual strength, are usually achieved in 10-100 iterative cycles.…”

“…Elements of the expert subsystems analyze data in real time, and, if necessary, are used to determine potential risks on basis of criteria and assessments of the state of the production environment in mines including use of mathematical apparatus of fuzzy logic [10][11][12]. Advantages of the expert subsystems are their ability to forecast geomechanical and gas-dynamic processes in the rock massif and negative consequences caused by these processes in mine roadways (rock falls, destruction of roof supports, floor heaving in the roadways, etc., [13,14]), as well as accumulation and storage of necessary knowledge in the database.…”
