“…Previous research with the SASSI-3 has provided evidence for using the measure as a screening tool for substance dependence but has not provided substantial evidence supporting the use of the measure for screening substance abuse. This is because there were a limited number of individuals with substance abuse included in the normative samples for the SASSI-3 [Miller and Lazowski, 1999].
