Abstract:Large networks are becoming pervasive in scientific applications. Statistical analysis of such large networks is prohibitive due to exorbitant runtime and high memory requirements. We propose a subsampling based divide-andconquer algorithm, SONNET, for community detection in large networks. The algorithm splits the original network into multiple subnetworks with a common overlap, and carries out detection algorithm for each subnetwork. The results from individual subnetworks are aggregated using a label matchi… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
