Abstract: Purpose: Irradiation of the lens during a neck CT may increase a patient's risk of developing cataracts later in life. Radiologists and technologists at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center (NIHCC) have developed new CT imaging protocols that include a reduction in scan range and modifying neck positioning using a head tilt.
