One of the most well-known and beloved Sundanese folklore stories is the "Lutung Kasarung" tale, which has been adapted and retold in various forms across the region. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the Sundanese folklore "Lutung Kasarung" from a philological perspective. The main objective of this study is to investigate how the Sundanese language is employed to reflect the values, traditions, and culture of the Sundanese community, and evaluating its contribution to the preservation of the Sundanese cultural heritage. The study employs qualitative methodology, using library research and interviews as research instruments. The findings of the research indicate that the use of language in the "Lutung Kasarung" folklore includes various linguistic elements, including 'Undak Usuk Basa', figurative language, poetic verses (pantun), and vocabulary or phrases associated with cultural expressions. The study's findings also highlight the significance of values such as honesty, loyalty, and kindness, as well as the repercussions of greed and selfishness, which are greatly emphasized in Sundanese cultural traditions. A key contribution of this research is its commitment to preserving the Sundanese language and culture. By meticulously examining how Sundanese is used in the folklore, it not only safeguards the language but also ensures that cultural elements embedded within it are recognized and celebrated.

El objetivo del presente artículo es identificar y explorar de manera comparativa la esfera lingüística y mental de la obra literaria en la cultura lingüística ucraniana y estadounidense a partir del ejemplo de los cuentos de William Faulkner (“Two Soldiers”) y Oles Honchar (“Por un momento de felicidad”). Se utilizaron los siguientes métodos: hermenéutica, lectura minuciosa, histórico-cultural, intertextual y método comparativo. La estructura del diseño del discurso del cuento de Faulkner es clara, sin adornos artísticos adicionales; su vocabulario es conciso y cumple funciones pragmáticas más que estéticas. Asimimso, la decodificación de los marcadores verbales existentes contribuye a una comprensión más profunda del espíritu mental del texto literario. En cambio, la cosmovisión de los héroes refleja más bien rasgos de la intuición como método filosófico. El cuento de Honchar sobre las esferas lingüística y mental de la organización sufrió una fuerte influencia artística y psicologización. El formato del artículo nos permitió centrarnos más solo en el lado léxico y semántico de la esfera lingüística y mental de las obras. Se han identificado áreas potenciales de investigación adicional. Sin embargo, es necesario complementar el análisis léxico-semántico generalizando las observaciones sintáctico-estilísticas del discurso y metadiscurso de los cuentos.

“…From a postcolonial standpoint, the poem reflects a deep yearning for a pre-colonial past and a profound connection to Indian heritage, symbolized by the resilient casuarina tree, as literature is not an independent "text" which can be separated from the environment. But, it is a discourse entirely dependent on the context in which it occurs (Candria, 2019). Furthermore, environmental criticism explores the poem's portrayal of nature, contrasting nostalgic reminiscences with the stark reality of urbanization and deforestation, thus raising crucial concerns about humanity's responsibility to the environment.…”

A language can touch many aspects of human life. As a part of our environment, nature is one of the most important aspects associated with the life cycle of humans, ranging from birth, basic survival, societal and mental needs to overall development. Combining language with nature, Ecolinguistics has emerged as a specialized branch which attends to the issues related to the environment. The earlier studies, in general, have shown the challenging aspects of our environment and the role of language in dealing with the same. However, an important aspect which is the positivity of a language for the environment and vice versa, has received less importance. The present study offers a stylistic evaluation under the lights of the Ecolinguistics of a famous poetic work in English by an Indian poet, Toru Dutt. This study analyses Our Casuarina Tree to explore its relevance to nature. The linguistic and literary elements analyzed are imagery, symbolism, syntax and rhythm. The study reviews writing styles and their impact on the reader's experience by examining how her stylistic devices improve the poem's aesthetic and semantic qualities and simultaneously show a deep relationship among nature, language and human emotions. The study clarifies the importance of ecolinguistic parameters in comprehending, appreciating, and relating nature with human emotions through language.
