Pharmazie triumacetat erhaltene Reaktionsprodukt wird mit 5yoiger Natronlauge extrahiert und das Filtrat auf dem Wasserbad unter gelegentlichem Umschwenken erhitzt. Nach 11/, Stdn. wird mit 25Xiger Schwefelsiiure angesiiuert, nach dem Erkalten die schwachgefiirbten Kristalle abgesaugt und aus Wasser unter Verwendung von Tierkohle wiederholt nmkristallisiert. Farblose Kristalle vom Schmp. 186"18). Das Maiglockchen (Convallaria majalis L.) ist ein altes Volksheilmittel. Uber seine Bedeutung und Anwendung in der Therapie berichten W. tion Brunn (1) und E. ischultes (2). I n Form von Tinkturen wird es heute noch als Cardiacum und Diureticum verordnet. Eine rationelle Therapie erfordert aber das reine, kristallisierte Glykosid Convallatoxin. Dieses aus einheimischer Droge gewonnene herzaktive Glykosid besitzt die Wirkungsqualitiiten des Strophanthins.
