Studying the magnetic properties of CoSi single crystals

Abstract: The magnetic properties of CoSi single crystals have been measured in a range of temperatures T = 5.5-450 K and magnetic field strengths H ≤ 11 kOe. A comparison of the results for crystals grown in various laboratories allowed the temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility χ(T) = M(T)/H to be determined for a hypothetical "ideal" (free of magnetic impurities and defects) CoSi crystal. The susceptibil ity of this ideal crystal in the entire temperature range exhibits a diamagnetic character. The χ(T) va… Show more

“…Revisiting the results on multiphoton Compton and BreitWheeler processes [5,6,11], we find that there is indeed a parameter range, for which the depletion of the laser becomes substantial. The processes in question have recently received a lot of interest [12,13], albeit with a focus on the final states (a frequency shifted photon or electron positron pairs). In this Letter, we want to change perspective and study in detail the dependence of nonlinear Compton scattering on the initial multiphoton states, that is on the number of laser photons absorbed. This will allow us to establish a threshold for the validity of the external field approximation and discuss some immediate consequences.…”
