Studying the influence of treating potato seed tubers with hot fog of protective-stimulating preparations

Abstract: At the moment, a new technique is often used in the technology of potato production and that is pre-treatment of seed material, which is done with the help of chemical, biological and physical methods in complex. Stimulation of plants in the initial period of the growing season requires a special approach. On the one hand, plants need nutrients and, on the other hand, they do not have a developed root system for their production. Therefore, foliar treatment of plants with protective stimulating preparations is… Show more

“…This contributes to inertial deposition of fine droplets of hot mist on potato tubers. In addition, the maximum heating of the potato surface occurs, that, on the one hand, promotes disinfection and, on the other hand, activates physiological processes in the tuber, thereby accelerating the germination of shoots [1]. Despite the high temperature of the hot mist, the heating of tubers occurs within one to two seconds, so their temperature increases by 1-2° C. The treatment time for tubers can be varied either by the speed of the conveyor, or by changing its angle of inclination.…”

“…The chlorophyll content in the leaves of potato plants was determined using "N-tester" device. The vegetative activity index NDVI was calculated by the device using expression (1) [8]: NDVI= P NIR -P RED P NIR +P RED (1) where РNIR is the reflection of the leaf in the near infrared region of the spectrum; РRED is the reflection of the leaf in the red region of the spectrum.…”

“…Pre-plant treatment with hot mist has a complex effect on grain crops. It protects seeds from harmful microflora, promotes better assimilation of soil nutrients and stimulates the physiological development of plants [1][2][3][4][5]. The use of hot mist of biopreparations for pre-plant treatment improves the physiological effect due to additional heating and at the same time reduces the consumption of biopreparations by reducing the droplet size [1,6].…”

“…Potatoes are among the crops that intensively consume nutrients during growth and development due to a weakened root system and large tubers [1,2]. In the initial period of growth, potato plants experience the least demand for nutrients from the outside, since they receive all the necessary nutrition from the mother tuber.…”
