Studying the electrical, thermal, and photocatalytic activity of nanocomposite of polypyrrole with the photoadduct of K3[Fe(CN)6] and diethylenetriamine

Abstract: The present work reports the synthesis of nanocomposite of polypyrrole with [Fe(CN) 6 ] and diethylenetriamine (dien) using Osram photo lamp. The successful synthesis of photoadduct was proved by Elemental analysis, UV-Vis and FTIR spectra. Nanocomposite of photoadduct with PPY was then prepared by oxidative chemical polymerization using FeCl 3 as oxidant. The successful synthesis of the nanocomposite was confirmed from FTIR, XRD and SEM. The nanocomposite showed significant increase in thermal stability, d… Show more

“…PPY thin films display absorption peaks at 464.1, 449.7 and 435.3 nm at different flow rates of argon gas (0.5, 1 and 1.5) L/min, respectively. The position of the peaks are in agreement with that reported in literature [8,9]. At oxidation, the maximum peak shifts to shorter wavelength with a decrease in intensity.…”

“…The atmospheric pressure plasma polymerization has different advantages, such as it works at room temperature waterless process and little-cost habitual continuance. This method is appropriate for using many types of substrates without being damaged by heat on these slides [6][7][8]. The characteristics of prepared polypyrrole thin films by plasma jet system could be superior with high deposition rate thanks to most favorable discharge gas flow rate [9][10][11].…”

“…33 Interestingly, a weak red-shifted peak appeared at 2,029 cm À1 in EDTA-NMF (Figures S7B-S7D), but this peak disappeared in NMF without chelating agent (Figure S7A) or Cit-NMF (Figure S7E). This peak also appeared in pure K 3 Fe(CN) 6 , 36 which was assigned to the Fe(CN) 6 group. The appearance of this peak was due to the induction effect, 37,38 that is, when there are different electronegative substituents near the ChN group, this will alter the electron cloud distribution of ChN group and cause the group's absorption frequency to change.…”

“…Figure 7(a) and (b) shows the C≡N group at 2200 cm −1 wavenumber. 36 This group appears after 10 min of the scaffold treatment in the plasma chamber. This means that after 5 min in the plasma chamber, the PPy has not been synthesized on the scaffold surface or is not enough to be detected.…”
