Personal identification is an actively developing area of research. Human signature is a vital biometric attribute which can be used to authenticate human identity. There are many approaches to recognize signature with a lot of researches. The aim of this research is to introduce an efficient approach for signature recognition. This approach starts with the process the acquired signatures and stores these signatures in the database to be ready for verification. The collection of signature data based on collecting samples of 10 people and 10 signatures for each person through traditional ink stamp method. These signatures are digitized to be ready for processing. Many steps are applied to the acquired images to perform the pre-processing stage. The proposed approach based on discrete wavelet transforms to extract significant features from each signature image. Pre-processing is applied at the beginning of this approach to avoid any unwanted noise. This approach consists of many steps: Data acquisition, pre-processing, signature registration, and feature extraction. High recognition rate results (100%) are obtained through applying this approach.

A B S T R A C TElectrocardiogram (ECG) is a periodic signal reflects the activity of the heart. ECG waveform is an important issue to define the heart function, so it is helpful to recognize the type of heart diseases. ECG graph generates a lot of information that is converted into an electrical signal with standard values of amplitude and duration. The main problem raised in this measurement is the mixing between normal and abnormal, in addition, sometimes, there are overlapping between the P-QRS-T waveform. This research aims to offer an efficient approach to measure all parts of P-QRS-T waveform in order to give a correct decision of heart functionality. The implemented approach including many steps as follows: Preprocessing, baseline process, feature extraction, and diagnosis. The obtained result indicated an adequate recognition rate to verify the heart functionality. The proposed approach depends mainly on the classifier process that based mainly on the extracted ECG waveform features that achieved from exact baseline detection.

Encoder is the measurement device that plays an important role in the electronic industry. In the process of manufacturing, the current mechanical testing methods are not of very high accuracy or are having problems in data processing algorithms. In this paper, the author represents a method for the testing mechanical work of an encoder product by measuring the torque induced by rotating the encoder. The advantages of this method are the high accuracy, stability and low cost. The accuracy of this method can go upto 95–98%. The measurement system uses LabView software as the data processing application and NI instruments as the data acquisition tools.
